In the world, as of 2019, Manila being the capital of the Philippines and as the most densely populated city proper, having 71,263 people per square kilometer. The city is located on the eastern shores of Manila Bay. The Pasig River flows through the middle of the city, dividing it into the north and south sections. The term “Manila” is commonly used to refer to the whole metropolitan area, the greater metropolitan area or the city proper.
As of today, together with the threat of the pandemic, waste management is still one those major problems that the Philippines faces. Due to the lack of disposal locations, improper and inappropriate wastes disposal, and inefficient waste collection, the Manila city faces such concern that could pester from this year up to the proceeding years which the next generation may inherit.
Specifically, in the community of Parola, which is located in Tondo, Manila, experiences the problem of waste management. The community is producing too much garbage however the location for disposal reaches its capacity which result to nerve-cracking problem. The effects of the current pandemic also contribute to the waste disposal management of the city and community.
